Hey everyone!

It’s been quite a while since our last news update, hasn’t it? Sorry for the radio silence. Over the past year, the Tactical Adventures team has been hard at work on our next game, which we still won’t be revealing for some time yet.

But that’s not why we’re here today. We’re here to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Solasta’s 1.0 launch! And what better way to mark the occasion than by bringing back the highly sought-after Solasta Campaign Sourcebook?

That’s right — we’ve partnered with Modiphius Entertainment and Rookery Publications to release a Revised Campaign Sourcebook, including all the new subclasses added after launch. In total, that means 41 subclasses adapted for tabletop play.

We’ll go into more detail below, but first... It’s dangerous to go alone, take this.

Already convinced and ready to grab a copy? Head over to Modiphius’ website to pre-order yours! Before you do, here are a few important things to keep in mind:
  • If you already own a physical copy of the Solasta Sourcebook through Kickstarter, Modiphius has kindly provided a discount coupon, which should have been sent to you by email. Be sure to redeem it at checkout. Please note: this offer expires on Sunday, June 16th!
  • Pre-ordering gives you immediate access to the PDF version of the Sourcebook at no extra cost.
  • Shipping is currently estimated to begin around September, with a few additional weeks for delivery depending on your country.
  • Price: Approximately 35 GBP / 41 EUR / 45 USD
  • Link: www.modiphius.net/pages/solasta
What if I only want to buy the PDF separately?
  • The PDF will be sold separately at a lower price once the Sourcebook is officially released around September. So if you only want the digital version, or would prefer to pay a little less, you’ll just need to wait a bit longer.
What do UK/ROW and NA mean in the preorder buttons?
  • NA = North America
  • UK / ROW = UK & Rest of the World
  • Make sure you select the correct region, as this will help reduce the shipping cost.
With that out of the way, let’s take a closer look at what the book includes!

What is a Campaign Sourcebook?

Let’s start with the basics, since not everyone may be familiar with what a Campaign Sourcebook is.

The Solasta Revised Campaign Sourcebook is a collection of information and illustrations covering the lore of the world of Solasta, including its timeline, its people, and gameplay content such as subclasses and monsters unique to its setting. It even includes a small art section at the end, featuring some of the team’s earliest work from the research phase.

You can find the table of contents below to get a better idea of what the book offers.

What's New in the Revised Sourcebook?

With all the classes and subclasses released over the years after Solasta’s 1.0 launch, we felt that simply reprinting the original Sourcebook would no longer be enough. That original version was written during Early Access and only included the 6 original 1.0 classes: Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, and Wizard.

Since then, we’ve added the other 6 classes — Barbarian, Bard, Druid, Monk, Sorcerer, and Warlock — along with one additional subclass for each through the Lost Valley DLC. So we went back to the drawing board and worked hard to adapt all of this new content for tabletop play, with the valuable help of some long-time community members. And that is how the Revised edition came to life.

The number of subclasses has grown from 17 to 41, all rebalanced for tabletop, increasing the size of the book from 180 to 196 pages. Once again, a big thank you to Stunfisk, IlliteratePig, Lathaon, M.S., and Stardust for helping us with this long and demanding process. Solasta has always been shaped together with our community, and that remains just as true for the tabletop book as well.

Making a Sourcebook – Behind the Scenes

For a long time, many of you have asked where you could buy the Sourcebook — and every time, we had to answer with some quiet disappointment. The simple truth is that Tactical Adventures is first and foremost a video game studio, and a fairly small one at that. Between working on DLCs, fixing bugs, adding content for the Dungeon Maker, porting the game to Xbox and PS5, and starting work on our next title, we have had very little time left.

That means side projects like the Sourcebook, even though they are very dear to the team, could not be our main priority — especially for a project of this size. Even with the source files ready, there is still a huge amount of work involved: coordinating with printers, setting deadlines, finding a platform to sell the book, arranging delivery to warehouses, managing international shipping, handling customs, and providing customer support when a package goes missing. That is not our main area of expertise, so it has taken time to find the right way forward.

However, once communication around Solasta slowed down after the release of our final DLC, Palace of Ice — and with our next title not yet announced — your favorite Community Lead, Myzzrym, finally had a bit of time to help turn this long-standing wish into reality. We began adapting the subclasses, Rookery Publications joined to assist with the files and revisions, and Modiphius stepped in to handle everything else — printing, shipping, organization, and more.

Thanks to that collaboration, the Sourcebook is finally available again, both online and in local stores as we had always hoped, and in both physical and digital formats.

And none of this would have been possible without your support. To all of you, our loyal players who love Solasta just as much as we do, thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.
